All is calm!

Party Pooper!
All is calm..............for now! We've returned from Ca and boy did it take us awhile to re-cooperate. I still feel a bit tired [just like Joey in the picture above] but better than I felt earlier this week. It always very exhausting going on a road trip with 3 kids. We did so much in 6 days that I don't think we'll be back for awhile. We also missed daddy alot and he missed us even more! He said he'll divorce me if I leave again. I don't think he was serious because he knows I have a few trips planned for this summer like our godson's birthday and Disneyland.
Joseph and Christina

Well we met with the surgeon on Monday [after driving back from Victorville] and he said Joey will need surgery. Its already been scheduled for the beginning of May. I also took him to the Dr. yesterday because he's been getting headaches. The Dr. said it could be one of 3 things

1. Stress from the upcoming surgery

2. He needs eye glasses

3. Hereditary

Vinny and his Llama friend

He loves animals.....well he loves stuffed animals and fell in love with this llama that was in Keira's nursery. He was good at my in-laws house but was a wild man at my moms. He likes to play all the instruments at my moms house like the piano, violin, and guitars. My sister Maria is the musician in the family. She's been nagging me to put Vinny in guitar lessons. While in Ca, I also got to spend some time with my friends that I met throught Moms Club. I've known these ladies since 2005 and have become life long friends with some of them. This is a great club to join if your a stay-at-home mom and are super bored. They have playgroups, field trips, meetings.....so much to list its worth joining. My friend Jamie is trying to convince me to start a chapter here.

THE MARATHON MAN!!!

I finally got a chance to watch my dad run in a 10K in Newport Beach on Sunday morning. We woke up at O'dark 30 to watch him run his 6 miles. It was awesome and inspirational!!!

My kids and I

It was drizzling that morning so we brought blankets to keep us warm.

The Finish Line

He finished the 10K in about 1 hour and 8 minutes. The clock in the picture was for the kids 5K run.

My new hair-do!

I decided last year to let my hair grow out again. When the boys were born my hair was almost to my behind. So then I decided I needed something new since my hair is always long. Its a bit shorter than I'm used to and I also got short layers. I really like it alot! Here is the end result. This picture is going to be framed on the wall along with individual shots of the kids and Gabriel. I am horrible at home decorating but have decided its time to buckle down and get started on doing some decorating. I bought a mirror last week and a few other goodies for the walls of my home. Once I finish some projects, I will post pics. Happy Thursday, stay delicious, and I hope your all happy and healthy!

I've returned!

Well here she is! Look at Christina's new smile. So beautiful! She was so nervous to get them that she had 2 dreams the night before. I told her to relax and everything would turn out great! And it did! She's been in a bit of pain but nothing outragous. I think those things make her look more mature. Its been crazy the last 48 hours. I've had little sleep [that means I haven't been able to sleep in since these kids have been on spring break]. We've driven to Vegas twice the last 2 days. The nice thing though is all the shopping I get to do when we go to Vegas. I went to the furniture store, Lowe's, Target, Sam's Club, scrapbook store, Michael's, and Costco. I am going to do more retail damage when we go to Ca today.
Here is Joseph at the Easter egg hunt in our housing development. They always put on some neat festivities during the holidays for the little ones. So we took him to the ENT on Monday. He did confirm that the lump on his neck is a Thryoglossal Duct Cyst. He said he's almost 100% sure that they will surgically remove it. We now have to meet with a surgeon and see when they will do this surgery on Joey. Thanks everyone for your wonderful thoughts and prayers! I've had 2 family members and a friend say that they would help us out with Vinny and Christina during the surgery. How nice!!! This one specific phone call got me thinking of how awesome some people truly are. Vinny's Kindergarten teacher called yesterday asking how Joey's appointment went. She's very sweet for asking! I'll keep you updated on the next step!
How adorable!!! Dressed to impress [like always!!!]

Oh......my splurge! I bought his mirror at a furniture store in Vegas. Its huge! 44"x44"! I bought it on Monday and picked it up yesterday. I can't wait to see what it'll look like in my family room. This picture is from the store. I am off to Ca in one-hour so that means no posts until then. I get to go visit my in-laws, my mom [who had a hysterectomy last Wednesday], dad, bro-in-laws, sis-in-laws, sisters, friends, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, godchild, cousins....you get the point!!! Have a great week and weekend and see you when I get back!!!!!!

Back from Dr. appt.

After having lunch a bit ago, Joey disappears. I go to check on him, walk into the bathroom, and find him standing on the bathroom counter.
He said he was doing his chores and cleaning the mirrors. I told him that you clean the mirrors with Windex not your toothbrush and toothpaste!
Well we saw his pediatrician this morning. She said its probably a
Thryoglossal Duct Cyst which is a neck mass or lump that develops from cells and tissue remaining after the formation of the thyroid gland during embryonic development. Its usually diagnosed in pre-school aged kids.
I asked her what happens if this is the true diagnosis and she said that
they would have to remove it. Surgery on my little guy :(
She referred me to an ENT [Ear Nose Throat Specialist] in Vegas. Christina is getting her braces on Monday at 10 then Joey's appt.
is at 1:30 p.m. Its going to be a crazy day [to say the least!] Say a little prayer for my family!

Another Mystery!!!

Well......it looks like we have another mystery in our hands! This time, its a serious one! We were at Wal-mart yesterday when I noticed this lump on Joey's neck. I touched and touched and touched! I was clueless at what the heck it was. Its small but obviously noticeable. He said it doesn't hurt
and he's been his normal self. Mood swings [he's a Gemini!], fighting with his brother and sister, doing his chores [yes, he has chores and is good at them!], same appetite [eats everything] and of course the normal wrestling with Dad. I'll update everyone after we get back from the Dr. tomorrow.
Happy Sunday!!!

Mysterious Holes!

So I've noticed some mysterious holes appearing on some of my shirts. Its been about 3 or 4 of my shirts that have fallen victim to this act. What do you think it is??? I had just boughten a shirt and wore it once then noticed the holes after I washed it. Interesting! Look at my nails [actually nail].....this is the first time I've had my nails this long and this strong. They've been this long since December. My mom treated me to a manicure before my sisters baby shower and I've let them grow since then. I promise I will post on The Marathon Man [aka. my dad] as soon as Cindy emails me some pics. Happy Thursday!

Friday March 7, 2008

I flew back home last night from attending my grandmas funeral. The priest held a nice mass. The flower arrangements were beautiful... just like my grandma! I wanted to take pics. of the flowers because you could literally walk into the chapel and smell all the flowers. Like the priest said, grandma is with the Lord and if you have the Lord in your heart, you have her in your heart too!!!

That's my mom and little sis Cindy.

My crazy sisters and I! They all picked me up from the airport and were screaming "SISTER" when they pulled up to the curve. It was really funny!!!!!!!!!

This morning, we woke up, took Vinny to school [Christina rides the bus], and went to our golf course here and hit some golf balls. Joey had so much fun!
Look! Its me and Joey!

This will be a great weekend! My brother-in-law and his family are coming down until Sunday. I told them to follow the speed limit when they got to Pahrump...otherwise they'll end up like me and Gabriel....with a ticket. It'll be nice to be with family!

The Marathon Man returns next time for another story on his quest at the L.A. Marathon....so stay tuned!

R.I.P. Abuelita

[Grandpa, me, and Grandma in 1989]
Isela [my sis] called me Thursday at 5:30 p.m. to tell me my sweet abuelita [grandmother] passed away. She was 95. I am so sad. She had a stroke in 2001 and from then on, I was kind of preparing myself for the worse. I guess you can never prepare yourself for the death of a family member. Its always a shock regardless of them being sick or healthy. She was really sick the last few months. I know she is walking again and dancing in heaven with my abuelito. Its never good-bye.....its see you later!
This was the sweetest thing I had ever seen. Back in December, we were celebrating my sisters baby shower. My grandma hated to travel more and more as she got older. Even if it was down the street. Well my aunt drove her an hour to be at the shower. I was looking for Vinny at one point, so I walked into the office and found him sitting on her wheelchair with a guitar. I asked him what he was doing and he said "I am singing grandma a lullaby." It was so sweet I grabbed my camera and snapped one of the best pictures ever! Before my sister called me, the day had begun on a bad note. I got pulled over for the 2nd time in less than 3 months. This time I wasn't so lucky. I got written up for 2 citations. One for speeding [I was going 57 on a 35] and the second for having an expired insurance card. I do have insurance but hadn't put the new card in my wallet. So the ticket was written up for $889!!! I almost pooped my pants...I went home, found the new insurance cards, and put them in my wallet. I will then just pay 157 for the speeding ticket because I have proof that I had insurance at the time of my citation. So if any of you decide to come visit me in Pahrump, please pay close attention to the speed limit! Gabriel also got a ticket [in the rental care] the day he flew out here to sign the loan docs. for our house. My neighbor has had 3 tickets in 4 months.
