R.I.P. Abuelita

[Grandpa, me, and Grandma in 1989]
Isela [my sis] called me Thursday at 5:30 p.m. to tell me my sweet abuelita [grandmother] passed away. She was 95. I am so sad. She had a stroke in 2001 and from then on, I was kind of preparing myself for the worse. I guess you can never prepare yourself for the death of a family member. Its always a shock regardless of them being sick or healthy. She was really sick the last few months. I know she is walking again and dancing in heaven with my abuelito. Its never good-bye.....its see you later!
This was the sweetest thing I had ever seen. Back in December, we were celebrating my sisters baby shower. My grandma hated to travel more and more as she got older. Even if it was down the street. Well my aunt drove her an hour to be at the shower. I was looking for Vinny at one point, so I walked into the office and found him sitting on her wheelchair with a guitar. I asked him what he was doing and he said "I am singing grandma a lullaby." It was so sweet I grabbed my camera and snapped one of the best pictures ever! Before my sister called me, the day had begun on a bad note. I got pulled over for the 2nd time in less than 3 months. This time I wasn't so lucky. I got written up for 2 citations. One for speeding [I was going 57 on a 35] and the second for having an expired insurance card. I do have insurance but hadn't put the new card in my wallet. So the ticket was written up for $889!!! I almost pooped my pants...I went home, found the new insurance cards, and put them in my wallet. I will then just pay 157 for the speeding ticket because I have proof that I had insurance at the time of my citation. So if any of you decide to come visit me in Pahrump, please pay close attention to the speed limit! Gabriel also got a ticket [in the rental care] the day he flew out here to sign the loan docs. for our house. My neighbor has had 3 tickets in 4 months.

Cousins forever!!!

We had some special visitors this last weekend. Baby Keira was here!!!!!!! She is so cute! The kids loved holding her and kissing her. My sister and brother-in-law love parenthood. I asked them how many more kids they wanted and they both said "20". I am not sure if they were kidding or not but I know she'll be pregnant again by the end of the year :)

6 years ago today........

I gave birth to our first born son....Vincent! He was a quiet and sweet little guy!
Look at him now! So big and full of life! He's definitely ONE OF A KIND!
Tell me if you know a 6-year old who's gone on ebay on their own to buy a movie. Tell me if you know a 6-year old that doesn't take the attendence up to the office but instead goes to the nurse to pretend he's sick. That's Vinny for you! One of a Kind! Happy Birthday Jumbo!

Kid's Page

Here's the newspaper article we've been waiting for. They asked the kids what there favorite cartoon character was???
He answered Ed & Eddie. Well he hasn't seen that show in over a year and he actually loves The Wiggles. I bought 4 newspapers....2 for us and 2 for his 2 grandmas!!!! Look at those chubby cheeks!

Happy Valentine's Day!!!

Vinny decided to unwrap all his lollipops and enjoy them all at once! Only he could think of something silly like that! BTW [by the way], Vinny was chosen to be interviewed by our local newspaper and will appear next Wednesday, the day before his birthday! We are very excited!

Keira has her own blog!!!

So my sister started a blog for Keira. Just click on the link below.
She's so cute! She has huge eyes [as you'll see on her site] which actually remind me of Vinny's when he was born. The link has also been added to my Favorites sites. Happy Tuesday!!!!!!!!!

My fun Scrapbook Day!

Saturday was a very fun day for me! I went to the Close to my Heart Regional Celebration in Vegas. It was a day of making 4- 2-page layouts [12x12], a mini album made out of cards and envelopes, and 4 cards. It was too much fun!!!!! By the way, I ended up returning my old Sony for a new Canon Powershot SD870 8 MP. I love this new camera!!!
Here is the layout I created for the 12x12 swap at Regionals. I got the idea from Close to my Heart's Imagine book.
This layout was 1 of 4 done at Regionals.
The room was full of Close to my Heart consultants. We worked on our projects from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with lunch and breaks in between.
So many ladies!!!!!!
